Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Hosts Free Marilyn Monroe Movie Nights

One of the most iconic dresses in history is on display at Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Grand Prairie Odditorium. The gown Marilyn Monroe wore to serenade President John F. Kennedy on his 45th birthday is now the world’s most expensive dress after being purchased by Ripley’s for $4.8 million. It will be at the Grand Prairie Odditorium for a limited time, beginning Friday, September 22. Ripley’s Believe It or Not! is also hosting Marilyn Monroe movie nights outside each Saturday in October, weather permitting. The final showing is Saturday, October 28, featuring “The Seven Year Itch.” In the movie, Marilyn Monroe plays a beautiful model who has moved into an apartment above Richard Sherman, who just sent his wife and son up to Maine for vacation. He dreams of his new neighbor – will his fantasies become reality? The movie is free to watch. Showings start at 7:30pm. Come dressed as Marilyn Monroe and enter the look-a-like contest for the chance to win awesome prizes. Judging for the best Marilyn look-a-like will happen before the movie at 6:30pm. Check-in at the ticket booth.
